First Grade Field Trip

Image
I was so lucky this week to get to join Mimi on her first grade field trip.  We began by going to Harmon's grocery store.  We were treated to a full tour and enjoyed samples of  their yummy delicious food like shrimp, cookies, bread and even some frog eye salad. (Note to Tour Guide: maybe you should clarify what exactly goes into making frog eye salad- a boy in my group was loving the fruit, whipped cream and marshmallows, but then nearly threw up when he thought he'd bitten into some frog eyes. Tulip Festival

A must see for us each year, is Thanksgiving Point's Tulip Festival. Maybe we just have spring fever (since it's taking so long for warm weather to get here this year). But we so enjoy the smell of the hyacinths and the beauty of all the spring bulbs bursting with color this time of year.

Desperately Seeking Wind

My little ones wanted so badly to try out their new kites. They set out in our cold temperatures in hopes that the wind would be strong enough to launch their kites skyward.....No such luck. I will give them credit however for determination. They were outside running for well over an hour with those kites, when even a small gust blew through our neighborhood.
